There are all types of vows. I vowed to myself that I would write in this blog religiously, not just to chronicle our life, but also to give myself a method for relieving stress. Alex and I made a vow to each other to eat healthier, try to get more sleep and encourage one another to work out more often. Most of the daily vows we make to ourselves and our partners are made with the best intentions to lead a healthier, more well-rounded, joyful life.
The actual wedding vows we stated during our wedding were no exception to that. As Alex and I approach our two year anniversary in October it amazes me to reflect on all of the different circumstances we've already dealt with in such a short period of time. I know there is so much more to come, but I love seeing how much we've strengethened our relationship from when we started dating. I also can't help but think of our marriage journey often this summer as we attend weddings and related-festivities for our close friends and family members.

Admist all of the weddings this summer, the immediate Janesz clan was also able to get together for a family vacation to celebrate Ed & Linda's upcoming 30th anniversary in September. We rented a cabin in Patoka Lake, Indiana for a few days of R&R. It was the perfect opportunity for everyone to get away. Alex and I took the remainder of that week off and had a mini "staycation" as well. It was definitely needed, although I may need another after October. And, I can't fail to mention that my own parents will be celebrating their 34th wedding anniversary in September!

While witnessing all of these marriage vows and anniversaries, there's been an unspoken vow, one that we all make, that has become evident to me lately; the one to support our friends and family to our best ability during their good times and bad. Sometimes it can be challenging to be there whether it's due to traveling, work schedules or financial reasons, but once you're there you realize it's worth it. The relationships we have in life are what makes life worth living. So bring on the rest of the bridal showers, couple's showers, bachelorette & bachelor parties, rehearsals and weddings because we love you all and can't wait to celebrate with you.
An edit to the traditional vows: During our rehearsal I accidentally said "partied by death" in place of "parted by death" due to my nerves; insert image of my nervous giggling. During the ceremony I had to work hard to keep my composure during that part of the vows. That incident really captures our relationship.
